Empowering Women Entrepreneurs: The Amber Grant by WomensNet

In a world where women entrepreneurs often face unique challenges in securing funding and resources, the Amber Grant stands out as a beacon of hope and support. Founded in 1998 by WomensNet, this grant program was one of the first online initiatives dedicated to providing financial assistance specifically to women-owned businesses. The Amber Grant honors the memory of Amber Wigdahl, a vibrant young woman who, tragically, passed away at the age of 19 before she could fulfill her dream of starting her own business. 

In tribute to Amber's aspirations, the Amber Grant has been providing women entrepreneurs with the financial support they need to bring their ideas to life. Every month, the program awards $10,000 to three deserving women-owned businesses, divided into three distinct categories. This initiative not only helps these women secure much-needed funding, but it also fosters a sense of community and empowerment among female entrepreneurs.

Additionally, the Amber Grant goes a step further by offering three annual $25,000 grants to a select group of the previous 36 monthly winners. This means that not only do these entrepreneurs receive immediate support, but they also have the potential for further funding to help scale their businesses.
